Another section of my childhood just went away...
Legendary animator Frank Thomas is dead.
Because (like me) you probably don't know who that is at first, he was one of the animators on Snow White, Bambi and Pinocchio, and he was the one who animated the bit in Lady and the Tramp where they're both eating the same string of spaghetti. I loved that bit - it's one of the things that puts the lie to the cynical air I like to adopt, one of the ingredients of the marshmallow center at the center of the dark chocolate of my projected self.
And now he's gone. Dammit.
