I'm not opinionated at all...

On a mailing list for my gaming group, somebody mentioned that they're working on a new Thundercats cartoon, which prompted me to write this:

If the new Thundercats cartoon is anything like what I've heard it's going to be like, it'll suck so much ass that there's going to be a critical ass shortage, raising the price of ass to ludicrous amounts, and forcing President Bush to have to release some of the ass stored in the government's strategic ass reserve.

Which got me the following reply:

After Clinton, there is no more strategic ass reserve

The folks on that list rock.

The Sci-Fi channel has a number of classic works of SF lit posted for the free reading, and when I found that was one of them, I had to give it another read. I first discovered it when I picked up the Dangerous Visions anthology, because I needed as big a book as I could find to read while the grandfather I was named after was in the hospital, as the doctors tried to put back together the health that his heart attack had taken away. Over the days that followed, I sat in the waiting room with my grandmother between visiting hours, reading and keeping her company.

I'm not sure if it hurt to read the story then - I had other pain to deal with - but tonight, with so many years, and the creation of the Internet later, when I think of all the people I only know from online? It burned like a bastard.
