What do you mean, he's not a furriner!?!

As you may recall, a number of entertainers and membes of Congress have gotten envelopes containing a white powder that resembled Anthrax since 9/11 - and IIRC it's practically always either a Democrat, and/or someone that has criticised the Bush administration and its policies. They've caught the guy responsible, and I'm shocked! Shocked! To find that it was a conservative American.

I know there are conservatives that are sane, rational people. I just wish sometimes that certain of the more vocal attack dogs on the right would own up to the lunatics that they share a side with, especially when said lunatics put the ideas of people like Ann Coulter into action the way this guy did. I swear, it's like the fundamental difference between the right and left these days is that the left are embarassed by our lunatics, and wish they'd just quietly go away (ask me about PETA sometime if you want to get me started), while an increasing number of people on the right look at theirs, and quietly cheer them on.

Here's one of the news stories on PETA's people killing animals and leaving their bodies in dumpsters:

http://www.roanoke-chowannewsherald.com/articles/2005/06/18/news/news1.txt
The arrests came after law enforcement officials with the Ahoskie Police and Bertie County Sheriff's Office on Wednesday were able to observe a white panel van drive next to the commercial dumpster located behind Piggly Wiggly in Newmarket Shopping Center. A person in the van tossed several dark-colored bags in the dumpster before the van attempted to pull away.

At that time, a traffic stop was initiated on the van - a vehicle occupied by Cook and Hinkle.

The bags located in the dumpster contained 18 dead dogs, including one bag containing seven puppies. An additional 13 dead dogs were found in the van.

A license check revealed the van was registered to PETA in Norfolk, Va. It is confirmed that Cook and Hinkle are official representatives of the animal rights group.
And there's a copy of PETA's own filings with the State of Virginia on how many of the animals entrusted to their care were killed from 1998-2005 here: http://www.petakillsanimals.com/downloads/PetaKillsAnimals.pdf

Were they sick or dying pets?

Why should either be left in a dumpster that isn't even close to any of PETA's shelters?

I know you love animals, Zeph, and your rescue efforts are a good and noble thing. But PETA are not deserving of your respect. You're better than them.
