Got a call from my sister last night...

Turns out that my niece wanted to take my tail to show and tell at her school.

As much as I love and adore my niece, I had to say no - I'm not sure exactly what I'm gonna do with that thing, but I just can't trust a five year-old not to give in to curiosity and unbind it.And I don't even want to think about how hard it would be to get loose hair into a french braid.

Superglue, liberally applied to the cut end, will seal it nicely. I learned this from a friend who did costuming and wigs. I have used it for hairwork braids, and it's very effective. Just be careful (as always) not to include your fingers in the project.
