Call it arrogance if you like, but ever since I started working in tech support, I've taken great joy in being able to stump the techs on the rare times when I call in. I hate not knowing the answer to questions, and it just makes me feel better if the person I have reluctantly turned to for help doesn't either (as opposed to how dumb I feel when I call in on something that is blindingly obvious, like when I had to call tech support because the date I was entering in an online form got rejected. When it sank in that this was caused by me entering the year 2000, rather than 2001, I can't even begin to tell you how stupid I felt. But I digress.)

So anyway, I just signed up for DSL service from an ISP other than my current one. And because some services block the port used to send outgoing mail to prevent anybody using an SMTP server other than their own, I wanted to make sure of whether or not my new ISP was one of those.

Was on hold about ten minutes as the tech I was speaking to tracked that one down... :)

I just now noticed what the "listless" emoticon looks like. That is just way too funny...

Hmmmm...

Still haven't gotten a reply to a message I sent out this morning. I hope this just means that the person I sent it to just hasn't been at a keyboard yet...

Damn...

Still no word from her. I still hope that it's just a case of her not having time to check email...

Whew!

Turns out her network was having trouble preventing her from being heard from. Alert over - nothing to see here, move along...

Bleh...

Tired, stressed and cranky from all the stress that the day threw my way. There's only one thing to do at a time like this: Watch a movie that will make me feel sad, and wallow in it so I can get it out of my system that much faster.

Just have to decide whether it's going to be the director's cut of "Blade Runner," or the director's cut of "Highlander."

After getting a reply from Caster the Kitty Boy, I had to add him to my Friends list. Anybody with a taste for widescreen movies is worthy of being on the list...
