Nov. 18th, 2002 11:08 amI got political this morning.
Woke up to find an email about the Homeland Security Bill being brought before the Senate, which had the numbers of both my senators included. So I called both their offices, and left a message that went roughly as so:
"I am calling to ask that the Senator vote against this bill. It goes beyond its stated goal of ensuring our security, and would if passed threaten our fundamental liberties granted by the Constitution. So as a Texan and a patriot, I ask that the Senator vote against this bill."
Given that I'm represented by Gramm and Hutchinson, I don't expect my opinion to mean that much to either, but at least I spoke my piece. Now I have to start getting the numbers of the House Representatives for my state.
