Ingredients:
1.5 pounds either ground turkey, or 95% lean ground beef
1 jar Green Giant Mushrooms and Garlic
2 cans Contadina Italian Paste with Roasted Garlic (6 oz)
2 cans Contadina Italian Style Tomato Sauce (15 oz)
1 can Contadina Recipe Ready Diced Tomatoes with Roasted Garlic (14.5 oz)
Tube of garlic paste (optional, if you're afraid of that much more garlic in the mix)*
1-2 oz. Dill weed
The worst red wine you can possibly find**
Brown the meat, pouring in a liberal amount of the worst red wine you can possibly find in to infuse it with the flavor. Once the meat is sufficiently brown, empty the jar of mushrooms and garlic into the pan, pour in more of the horrible red wine and heat until the liquids have almost completely boiled away. Add the tomato paste, and stir to mix it in thoroughly. Simmer for a few minutes, then add the tomato sauce and diced tomatoes, along with more of the awful red wine. Add the dill weed, then simmer while the spaghetti cooks.
If using the garlic paste, squeeze large amounts of it into the sauce however often you want.
Serves six, or three really hungry people.
*Yes, I love garlic. What's the point of eating Italian without enough Garlic to stun people by breathing at them after you're done eating?
**You don't want Mad Dog, but rather something that represents a failed effort at making good wine. The worse the wine you can find is, the better the flavor it imparts will be.
