Yesterday, I read a post by someone on my friends' list which included the following passage:

I'm doing research on Louis XI 'the Spider-King' of France.

Which inspired me to write the following (the first verse has been slightly edited):
Spider-King
Spider-King
Ruling the French is his thing
Cuts off heads
Any size
Parisians love him, if they're wise
Look out!
Here comes the Spider-King!

Is he blessed?
Listen, bud
He's got the bluest of all blue blood
Can he reign in those threads?
Take a look overhead
Hey there!
There goes the Spider-King!

In the chill of night
In the fields of LaCroix
Behold his glory
And proclaim "Vive le'Roi!"

Spider-King
Spider-King
Ruling the French is his thing
Wealth and fame
Are his reward
At least until
He's le mort
To him
Ruling's a great big hang-up
Wherever there's a hang-up
You'll find the Spider-King!
