Actually, it was Ellen who was the self-righteous asshole here, because it was a totally different situation with Marten. He never broke up with Faye, because he never had a relationship that went beyond rommates with her to begin with, for one thing, and she's the one who told him that it'd be a long time before they could have anything together, if ever.
Truth? In Ellen's defense of her own hypocrisy? Hardly.
