Why I Hate Mark Millar
Feb. 21st, 2007 06:07 pmShort version, for those who haven't been following the series Civil War: Mark Millar decided to make a complete change of the Marvel Universe status quo, and did it via a series where heroes of long standing acted totally out of character, and in some cases became worse than most of the villains they've fought all these years, oh and by the way, why not toss in some of the worst hamfisted political commentary he could think up while he was at it?
I read an interview with Millar recently, where he talked about how he'd wanted to write a book about there being teams of superheroes in all fifty states. After reading Civil War #7, I'm left with the impression that this was the entirety of the reason behind having this godawful mess published to begin with.
I could say more, I guess, but I'm feeling too disgusted right now.
