A friend hit me with the following statement earlier:
Static-Pulse: I want a comic where Roy is the new Crimson Avenger, because if Ronon Dex proves nothing else, he proves that gun-fu is more awesome when guys in leather pants do it.
That got me to thinking about the possibility of a take on the concept that would run along the lines of the All-Star Squadron book where the children of the Earth-2 golden age heroes were fighting the good fight. So the lineup I have in mind is this:

Crimson Avenger: After Roy was abandoned by Ollie because of the heroine addiction, he managed to kick the habit and return to his career as a vigilante. He refused to honor his estranged father figure, however, and instead took the mantle of one of his other teammates. He's the one who, when a new crisis threatens, reforms the Soldiers.

Stargirl and S.T.R.I.P.E.: Pat Dugan is not as young as he used to be, but the exoskeleton he built with Ted Knight's help keeps him in fighting trim. Which is a good thing, because keeping up with his stepdaughter requires more energy than he can manage without it.

Vigilante: Kate Spencer saw too many metahuman criminals elude justice, and it shattered her faith in the law. She "liberated" a number of items from the LAPD's evidence lockers, and along with them took the name that Greg Saunders made famous in his battles against crime.

Green Arrow and Speedy: When Ollie discovered that a tryst in college had resulted in a son, he dedicated his resources to finding Connor Hawke. When they found each other, Ollie did his best to be the kind of father to Connor that he should have been to Roy - as he later wound up doing with the orphaned Mia Dearden. When Ollie died, Connor took his place, and passed the mantle of Speedy to her. This will cause no small amount of friction within the team, as Roy and Ollie's failure to ever reconcile makes these two a pair of walking reminders of the father he never quite managed to have.

Shining Knight: Gardner Grayle was Sir Justin's squire. After his mentor fell in battle, he used his scientific know-how (and the help of Ted Knight) to forge a new set of armor for himself.

They have skill. They have power. They have the will to stand against that which would destroy their universe.

They are the Seven Soldiers. On their shoulders rests the fate of all.
