Comment on this post. I will then choose seven interests from your profile and reply to you with them. Repost this meme in your own journal along with the explanations of what each chosen interest means and why you're interested in it.And here's the list she chose:
• the big o: One of my favorite anime series ever. It's like Batman, only with mecha for added coolness (in no small part because the same studio that did Batman: the Animated Series also did this). It's moody, it's weird, it has psychotic villains whose metnal malfunctions are often writ large across their faces, and its soundtrack is jazz of pure, undiluted goodness. What's not to love (aside, possibly, from the way they ended it, which rivals Evangelion's for sheer WTF?-ness. I thought it fit, though).
• heroclix: I started playing this back when it first came out, andam unapologetically in love with the game. It has a good mix of strag\tegy and luck, and who can't love a game that lets you answer the question of who'd win in a fight between Batman and Captain America?
• blue: My favorite color, so great it has its own emotional state named after it. Sometimes my answers are simple ones.
• ps 238: One of the best comics out there (and its creator is posting a page from his back issues on the site [http://www.ps238.com] every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. It's about a public school for kids with superpowers, named PS 238 because that's the most stable isotope of Uranium, and someone at the Department of Education thought they had a sense of humor. Great characters (Zodon, the five year-old supergenius supervillain in training who has a chip in his head that stops him from cursing by making him say nonsense words instead, is just one example). Storylines that are almost ridiculously epic in scope (there was a time-travel story that took something like 4-5 issues, only two of which were in sequence, to play out). And unlike all too many of the comics published by the big two right now, it's pure, undiluted fun stuff that you can actually let a child read without worrying about it.
• meme hating (bit ironic? ;P): Yes, and deliberately so. I decided awhile back to experiement with social engineering, and posted an entry in my LJ saying "If you hate memes, add meme hating to your interests list, and then post in your journal asking others to do the same", just to see whether anybody would. Nobody did the second half, as far as I've been able to tell, but every so often somebody else adds it to their list, so I feel that I've accomplished something.
• karawynn: Karawynn Long - great writer, interesting person. Used to speak with her regularly, but as is the case with too many net friendships, diverging interests and situations led to us losing contact. The intro to one of the stories she worte that I particularly enjoyed is here; click on Delirium's face to read the story itself.
• big dumb stupid music: I think I said it best in this post.
