I met him a time or three, at ConDFW, and my best memory from the first one of those I went to is still sitting around with him and all the other people he was talking to at the hotel bar after hours, just chatting away about whatever exactly it was. Each year when the guest lineup was announced, I'd check to see if he would be there.
