Farewell To Socks the Cat

It's funny how the damndest things will affect you. I was sitting there with one of my cats on my lap, and the other draped across the spare monitor that's been used as a cat bed, and while I was checking the blogs on my reading list, I came across the story of how the former First Feline is not likely to be with us much longer. It hurt.
Anyone who has been fortunate enough to have a truly significant animal in their life knows that they make us better people than we would otherwise have been. They dignify our lives by their being in it, and if we are very good, we deserve the love they give us. I would write more, but my heart is too full to do so right now.
