Hebrew
1. Suspension (as of music,) a pause
In the Psalms, the word "selah" appears numerous times. Each instance represents a pause for those listening to them being sung to think about what they have heard, and for the performers to pause before switching keys or instruments.
In this time of insanity, I ask every one of you who reads this to join me in pausing to reflect on what has happened, not just in the attack on the US, but in your own lives as well. Have you found yourself hating someone because of things they have done to you? Is that anger you truly need to hold on to? Would it be better for you if you forgave them, or just let go of your resentment and drop them out of your life entirely?
Selah.
Pause, think, and decide. And may you find peace in areas of your life where it was lacking.
Selah.
