I just heard that Dr. Gene Scott died. Damn.

Maybe somebody decided that he was a pissant, and decided to obey that song of his.

He was a TV evangelist out of LA who started broadcasting . . . I dunno how long ago, but I used to watch his show at 3:30 in the morning when I started out in college back in 86. He was cranky, weird, and fascinating to watch.

And his band had a song called "Kill Some Pissants For Jesus."

Yeah... Gene Scott was a trip. There's no way to describe his show... he'd decide people weren't sending enough money, and fill an entire show with crappy elevator music and video of his Tennessee Walking Horses, with the occasional voice over by Dr. Scott harping about something.

His show was just the thing to put you to sleep when you had 3am-insomnia... but you had strange dreams after. :-)

Oh, damn. He was amusing as all hell. And I learned a lot about Tennessee Walking Horses when he'd go on strike. ::grin::
