I try not to beeasily shocked, especially when dealing with matters political, but occasionally I see something that manages to punch through my little candy coating of cynicism. This one's taken me all the way through "shocked" and into "sickened":

"For much of this election year, the legislative week started late Tuesday and ended by Thursday afternoon -- and that was during the relatively few weeks the House wasn't in recess." That's one and two-halves days' worth of - I hesitate to call it "work" at this point. Jesus CHRIST, no wonder it's so easy for the GOP leadership to just abandon important things for the next Congress to take care of.

Anybody thought that letting the Republicans control two out of three branches of governmentwas a good idea, I have to hope that you're as appalled at this as I, because I know you had to be thinking something more like "They can do a good job", rather than "They won't do anything", right? Please tell me that I'm right here?

I'm disappointed in the whining from Democrats who don't want to work a full week, in case there's any doubt. But the ones who changed the schedule so that things got to this point are the ones that go straight to firing up my bile ducts, and neither pass Go, nor collect more handouts from Abramhoff.
