Linked, rather than embedded, because it's way messed-up. They get points for giving Charlie the Travis Bickle haircut at the end, though.

At GenCon Indianapolis, they held an auction in honor of Gary Gygax, without whom most of the RPGs that we all have played and/or enjoyed over the years would not have been possible. The idea was to benefit Gary's favorite charity by making as large a donation as possible in his name. They raised over $17,000, which fact makes me proud to be a gamer.

The charity - Gary's favorite, mind you - turned down the donation, because part of it was raised by the sale of D&D materials.

It's one thing to turn down money offered to you on principle. Turning down money that was meant to help feed starving children, though? That is so goddamn bullshit a thing to do.

If you want to know whom it was that decided that it was more important to get the vapors over all that "Dark Dungeons" bullshit than to put food in childrens' mouths, a more complete account (including link to Them As Shall Be Unnamed) is here
