Mounting (as it were) feelings of dread...

Was going over the spoilers thread about "52" on the DC Comics message board, and found the following items that, when I took them as a whole, gave me cause for fear:
15. The Ultimate Insult: A beloved DCU character no longer of the living will have their grave defaced in a shocking act.
18. Ralph Dibny: The Next Step: Nobody in the DCU has suffered more in the past two years than Elongated Man, but in 52, Ralph Dibny tries to move on in way that will shock you.
29. Ralph Gets Some!: Mr. Dibny finds himself getting busy with somebody other than his beloved Sue. Who's the lucky lady (or fella)?
41. JLA=S.E.X.: Two former Justice Leaguers you would NOT expect will bump uglies by year's end. Awk-ward!
44. Not That There's Anything Wrong With That: A new gay character make their first appearance in 52, before moving on to their own ongoing series.
So Ralph fucks Ray Palmer on Sue's grave? What is this, JLA: Brokeback Mountain?
At least they'd sell plenty of copies to yaoi fans, I guess...

But something about that 52 list is really, really weird. Of course, I wasn't as much into JLA as I was all the cross-overs between Batman, Superman, and the New Teen Titans (Nightwing's first appearance after he ditches "Robin").

Date: 2006-03-15 10:16 pm (UTC)I worked in a comic book shop for a while, but would probably have never set foot in it to begin with if not for my (now) ex-boyfriend's patronage there. I discovered that this shop wasn't so bad, but still, there were plenty of fanboys coming in to go "buh. girl!" at myself and the other female employee.
It was.. odd. Granted, otherwise, it was the most fun job I've had in a loooong time. Too bad it didn't pay da bills, and thus back to the office job I went. /sigh
