Political Post re: Health Care Reform
Mar. 22nd, 2010 05:49 pmThe post to which I was replying is here, in case you care to read it. My comment is below:
Intriguingly enough, the url I was redirected to after my comment was posted ended in "#comment-7", so I'm curious as to how many are going to make it out of the filter. The people who are responsible for it being a completely partisan vote are the Republican members of the House.
Your claim about outrage over the health care reform legislation is a lie on two levels. First is the implication you were trying to get people to draw about your opinion being that of the majority. In a poll held by the Opinion Research Corporation in January, 54% of the people polled said that they favored a public option. Of the people who said that they were opposed to the plan that the Democrats passed over the obstructionism of the Republicans, enough said that their opposition was due to it “not being liberal enough” for them to prove that a majority do not want the status quo you are defending.
The second way in which your claim was a lie is that the bill that passed was nothing even close to the government takeover you complained of.
But, given that the Big Lie has been your side’s standard operating procedure for over a decade now, it’s not exactly a surprise that you’re resorting to it now. Neither is it a surprise that you’re talking about someone other than yourself having a lack of shame when you’re shamelessly lying about what happened.
