Sep. 16th, 2002 03:37 amGoddamn back pain. I feel like I've got concrete bricks wrapped in barbed wire embedded all along my spine.
Called in sick, because I know I'm not going to be good for anything during the day tomorrow. But damn - when the kind of pain relievers I got scripted back when I burned my hand do you no good, you know you have it bad. I'm actually considering staying up another hour and a half, just so I can take another one before crawling into bed.
Must find out whether my insurance covers massage therapy, whenever I manage to wake up.

Date: 2002-09-16 03:04 am (UTC)If you had a burn, the painkiller is different than what you need for muscle pain. Generally, prolonged muscle pain needs a muscle relaxer, as well as antiinflammatories. Docs usually prescribe something like flexoril for muscle pain.
(I know this because I had 3rd degree burns and muscle problems)
To help the muscle pain, use moist heat for 15 minutes at a time.. a hot towel works well, or a heating pad.
Tiger balm works well for me...
Most importantly, see your doctor.
